Why you shouldn’t wait with visiting career fairs until the end of your MBA
Don’t wait with visiting career fairs and building relationships with your dream company until the final stages of your MBA, says RSM’s Career development Manager Diana Diniz. At the Luxury & Retail MBA Career Forum in Paris she explained that such visits present a great opportunity to hone your networking skills and sharpen your personal brand. Especially early on in your MBA journey, when you are still figuring out where to take your career. MBA student Ekaterina Pakhomova also sees value in taking the trips: “You can learn a lot from experts and superstars from different industries. And you meet your peers, who have already been successful, but will be tomorrow’s leaders as well.” Recruiters from luxury brands, present at the Career Forum seemed anxious to get in touch with MBA candidates during the networking sessions. EU Next Generation Manager Kobi Ampoma from apparel brand PVH acknowledged that an MBA can be a great entry to a career in luxury and retail: “Many businesses in this industry are going through a transformation. If you look at how MBAs develop themselves, they are well positioned to contribute to new approaches for organisations.” Go to www.rsm.nl/careers to discover how RSM can set you up for a successful career after MBA.
